Another Saturday in DC

Yesterday we visited some religious sites in Washington DC.  First we visited the Franciscan Monastery, where we had a tour and explored the grounds.  After that, we went to the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception.  This is the largest catholic church in America/Canada.  Both places had very interesting artwork, particularly the mosaics at the Basilica.  Quinn got to have his picture taken with the Pope at the Monastery.

Quinn requested that I take his picture here.  Probably one of the nicest smiles he's ever given for the camera.

Yesterday we went to DC to see a few sights we haven't seen yet.  We plan to go back next weekend as well.  Here are a few pics from our adventure.  Our main stops were The Cathedral of St. Matthew the Apostle (though I don't have any pics from there), the US Botanic Garden, the National Gallery of Art, and going up inside the Washington Monument.
