Trains

Today we went to see the trains at Homestead Gardens.  He really enjoyed watching the trains (I regret that I didn't get any of the trains in the picture). Quinn also got to ride on a car and pet Ellie the cat.

Christmas fun!

While out walking one day, we saw a sign for a "Christmas Festival" at an elementary school in our town.  We decided to check it out, not expecting much.  To our surprise, there were lots of fun things to do.  Quinn got his picture taken with Santa:

OK, so maybe it wasn't so fun for him.  He did, however, seem to enjoy the horse-drawn carriage ride:

He also enjoys throwing his "Little People" at the Christmas tree.  Have at it, kid.  If that's the worst thing you do to the Christmas decorations, we don't have much to worry about.  I have a video, but the blog won't let me upload it for some reason.

Quinn's second birthday

For Quinn's second birthday, we took him to the Maryland Science Center with some of our friends and their kids.  We had a wonderful time learning, playing, and just spending time making memories together.

Still trying to figure out how to hold up 2 fingers
A few of us braved the "bed of nails:"

There was a lot to see, hear, and do:

You are getting sleepy...

The water table was Quinn's favorite.  He spent almost an hour here.

He also enjoyed the "submarine:"

And "Newton's Alley:"

Afterwards, we went out for Pizza, and the kids said, "cheese!"

The cupcakes were a hit.  Quinn preferred his upside down, once he figured out the plate was not edible.  Emma enjoyed Quinn's icing.

Happy Fall

Quinn loves to "tap dance" in piles of leaves.  In fact, he does this tap dancing quite often, but especially when he is standing on something that is different from the ground (like a manhole cover).  This picture was taken at daycare, so I wasn't there, but I'm pretty positive that he was tap dancing when the picture was snapped.

Trick or Treat

Quinn went Trick-or-Treating for the first time this year.  I didn't think he would really get a lot out of it, but he quickly caught on to knocking on doors and taking candy.  He even started to turn around to leave if people didn't answer their door fast enough.  He laughed and danced between houses, and only had a melt down when he spotted the park and we wouldn't let him go.  I thought we'd take him to just 3 or 4 houses, but we were all having so much fun (Babcia came, too) that we went to about 10 houses.  He got a bucketfull of candy, and only ate a corner of a snickers bar.  He didn't want to eat anything else, but he did take his candy into his cardboard house and played with it.  He liked taking it out of the bucket and putting it back in.  Some kind man game him a flashing light pumpkin necklace, and he loved that as well.  Here are the pictures:

Dutch Wonderland

Last week we went to Dutch Wonderland, a theme park near Lancaster, PA (yes, two trips to Lancaster in one week).  The park is designed for smaller children, so there were some rides that Quinn could ride without an adult.

The "Wonder Whip" lives up to its name
Cutest fighter pilots ever!!

Check out the "Wonder Whip" in action:

Here's Quinn (and Caleb and Emma) on the airplanes with a new friend.  The little boy's mom asked if he could ride with Quinn.  Not sure why, since there were plenty of empty planes.  Maybe Quinn looked friendly or like he needed a friend.

On some rides, Quinn needed a little help or supervision:

My seat was behind him on this ride...not sure how I was helping here.

He didn't understand how to pedal with his hands, so I pushed him around the track with a broom-like object
Here we are before riding the "Turtle-Whirl."  I forgot how fast these tilt-a-whirls spin!!  Half-way through, Quinn started to cry and frantically made the "all done" sign repeatedly.  Sorry, son, I wish I could have stopped the ride at that point, too.  We both survived, but don't think I'll be riding it again. Ever.

They had these little carts called "Wiggle Racers" that you could steer with your hands.  Quinn lasted all of 10 seconds on this, which is why I only got half of a picture.  He kept trying to get off.

Cherry Crest Farms

A few weeks ago we went with a friend and 2 of her children to Cherry Crest Farms near Lancaster, PA.  We conquered a corn maze, pet some goats, took a tractor ride, and saw baby chicks. We had a great time!
